The founder of Tourtour Fossil Museum, Victor Zaneboni was first interested in botany, and while out walking he began to collect « his stones » imprinted with the past.
An ardent amateur, he studied paleontology for 20 years in order to be able to interprete and list his many discoveries. One specy of ammonites actually bears his name.

Tourtour’s library is a public service open to all comers.
It was created in 2004 and proves to be both a cultural and a relaxing locality where it is possible to have acces to more than 5000 documents, either to lend or to consult in the library itself.
There is enough to satisfy everyone all year long.
Both adults and youngsters will find a varied collection of books, CD’s and films regularly renewed thanks to the partnership with the mediatheque etc…

For adults there is :
Fiction : (novels, crime, science fiction, large print, comics & cartoons)
Non fiction : (biographies, local history, social sciences, history, thearts& DIY)
Plus : magasines, CD’s, DVD’s, cassettes, CD books, CD roms.
Youngters : Fiction (albums, novels for children & teenagers, small children,
fairystories and comic strips).
Non fiction : idem adults

Free consultation of documents.
Possible reservation of documents.
Internet free access 

Inscription terms :
The library is free.
Each member must fill in an inscription form and present some identity as well
as a justification of residence. All the information is confidential.

Inscription rules :
The length of loan is limited to 3 weeks and consist of not more than :
- 3 books
- 2 Cd’s
- 2 cassettes
- 1 DVD by family
- 1 magazine
It’s possible to renew the loan by asking, only if the document is not booked elsewhere .

Opening hours :
Wednesdays & saterdays from 10 am to 12.30 pm and 3 pm to 6 pm.
